Sep 14, 2023

Brunch isn't just a weekend treat; it's a daily celebration of deliciousness. We've compiled a list of the top spots in Buenos Aires where you can relish this fantastic meal at any time.

Brunch originally popped up as a way to enjoy a leisurely meal when you wake up a bit late for breakfast but aren't quite ready for lunch. It's the perfect blend of sweet and savory, and you can pair it with a cocktail or a steaming cup of coffee – there are no rules when it comes to savoring brunch.

In Buenos Aires, brunch isn't confined to weekends; you can enjoy it any day of the week. The key is to choose the right spot. Whether you're into creative and unique concepts, artisan pastries, or the flavors of Buenos Aires, Italy, or Mexico, Buenos Aires has you covered. So, grab this list, call your fellow foodie adventurer, and let's explore these brunch havens together.

  1. AMERICANO - A Pan-American Affair

"Bringing the flavors of the Americas together" is the motto at Americano. Owners Peter Drinan and Tali Bek Marelli introduced this spot in 2019, offering an all-day breakfast & brunch menu that spans North to South America. They aim to reinvent breakfast habits with nutritious options loaded with fruits and veggies. Americano combines the relaxed café vibe with the quality of a restaurant, serving specialty coffee and a wide array of vegan and gluten-free choices.

Our Brunch Favorites: The Yankee (grilled cheese), breakfast bowl, and pancakes.

Pro Tip: On weekends, they offer preset combos with coffee and a cold drink.

Must-Try Items: Grilled cheese sandwich with pear, tomato, and cilantro pesto, and the sunrise cold brew – coffee and pineapple-infused for 48 hours.

When: Preset combos are weekend exclusives, but you can craft your brunch any day from 8 AM to 8 PM.

Where: Visit them at Echeverría 1550, Belgrano.

2. OLI CAFÉ - Fresh and Wholesome Brunch

Olivia Saal's menu at Oli Café is simple, fresh, and inspired by her childhood cuisine, emphasizing fruits and vegetables. Most dishes come with salads, and everything is prepared on-site in their open kitchen. On weekends, they offer a brunch for two with a delightful spread.

Our Brunch Favorites: The weekend brunch for two, featuring salads, scrambled eggs, sandwiches, French toast, fruit, and potato latkes.

Pro Tip: Don't miss their classic brunch drink – the bloody mary!

Must-Try Items: French toast with seasonal fruits and the trout bagel.

When: While you can customize your brunch, note that they only serve lunch from 12:30 PM to 4 PM. They're open daily from 9 AM to 7 PM, closed only on Tuesdays.

3. BLANCA - The Artistic Coffee Haven

In 2013, Caro and Juan, aficionados of decoration and design, created Louis & Lewis, known for decorative candles. Six years later, they fused their love for design with specialty coffee to birth Blanca, which now boasts two locations. Coffee takes center stage here, but the food menu is equally impressive. Inspired by their favorite eateries in New York and Copenhagen, they serve dishes made from high-quality ingredients with a personal touch to complement their coffee offerings.

Our Brunch Favorites: Chipá sandwich, French toast, matcha latte, lemonade, and cinnamon roll.

Pro Tip: Customize your coffee with lavender or vanilla syrup, and don't miss their homemade coconut milk.

Must-Try Items: Caprese sandwich on chipá bread and the matcha latte.

When: Brunch is available anytime, every day.

Where: Find them at Soldado de la Independencia 1177, Cañitas, or Sinclair 3136, Palermo.

  1. COBRE - The Copper Connection

Pato Albornoz and José Luis Divano have been friends since they were 12 years old and decided to embark on this culinary journey together. Copper is named after the best metal for transmitting energy, and it's evident that the team loves what they do, delivering friendly and warm service.

Our Brunch Favorites: Fig and sardine toast, yogurt bowl, carrot cake, and two cups of coffee.

Pro Tip: The carrot cake here is a standout – don't leave without trying it!

Must-Try Item: The fig and sardine toast is a real treat.

5. SILVESTRE - The Cozy Corner Café

In 2022, Silvestre sprang to life as an extension of Mercado Silvestre in Chacarita. Matías and Agustín, the owners, felt that their neighborhood needed a peaceful spot to enjoy delicious food, work on their laptops, and, importantly, have gluten-free and vegan options.

Our favorite brunch pick: Go for the avocado toast, a croissant, and some yogurt with granola.

Cool fact: They even have vegan croissants, so everyone can have a tasty treat!

What's the best part? You'll fall in love with their croissants and the irresistible avocado toast.

How much does it cost? You can expect to spend between $800 and $1600.

When are they open? From Monday to Saturday, they're serving deliciousness between 9 am and 8 pm.

Where to find them: You'll find them at Charlone 300, Chacarita.

6. LA VALIENTE - A Bakery Adventure

In 2020, Chris Petersen had a brilliant idea. He asked his friend Germán Torres to join him in creating a special place in San Isidro to celebrate the magic of Buenos Aires' bakeries. Fast forward to April 2021, and they opened a bright and cozy bakery in Núñez. Here, you can sit down and enjoy all sorts of delicious treats while sipping on a fantastic cup of coffee. It's the perfect spot to have a brunch inspired by the flavors of Buenos Aires. Picture crustless toasted sandwiches, classic cakes, sweet dulce de leche churros, and their famous croissants.

Our favorite brunch pick: Imagine munching on those yummy toasted sandwiches and, on weekends, indulging in dulce de leche churros.

Fun fact: They make some of the city's most delicious chipá (cheese bread). You absolutely must give it a try.

Best of the best: You won't be able to resist their croissants and the ham and cheese crustless sandwich. They're incredibly addictive.

When can you go? They're open from Tuesday to Sunday, between 8 am and 8 pm.

Where to find them: You'll spot them at Av. Cabildo 4300, Núñez.
